The Journal of Education and Human Resource Development in Defense wants to ensure that all authors are careful and adhere to international standards for academic integrity, especially regarding plagiarism.
Plagiarism occurs when a writer takes ideas, information, or words from another source without proper credit to the source. Even if it happens accidentally, plagiarism is still a serious academic violation and unacceptable in international academic publications.
When the author studies certain information (names, dates, places, statistics, or other detailed information) from a specific source, a citation is required. (Ini hanya dimaafkan dalam kasus pengetahuan umum, di mana data tersedia di lebih dari lima sumber atau pengetahuan umum, misalnya, fakta bahwa Indonesia adalah negara berpenduduk Muslim terbesar di dunia)
When a writer takes an idea from another writer, a citation is required even if the writer later develops the idea further. This might be an idea about how to interpret the data, whether it is the methodology used or the conclusions that should be drawn. This might be an idea about broad developments in the field or general information. Regardless of the idea, the writer must cite the source. In cases where the writer further develops the idea, it is still necessary to cite the original source of the idea, and then in the following sentence, the writer can explain their more developed idea.
When a writer takes words from another writer, quotation marks and citations are necessary. Whenever four or more consecutive words are identical to a source read by the writer, the writer must use quotation marks to indicate the use of another author's original words; a mere citation is no longer sufficient.
The Journal of Education and Defense Resource Development takes academic integrity very seriously, and the editor reserves the right to retract acceptance of any paper found to violate any of the standards set forth above.
